My name is Kaylee, and I'm a Pokémon fan. But not just any fan; a die-hard fan. I have lots of Pokémon merchandise. I have a vast collection of cards, the manga, toys, and every game from Red and Blue to Black 2 and White 2, spin-offs and remakes included. But my favorite form of Pokémon media is the anime. And why do I love it so? There's one answer: Ash Ketchum. He's my all-time favorite Pokémon and anime character. And I wish they'd pair him up with Iris, since I'm a huge NegaiShipper.
But enough about me. Let's get to the story.
One day, I was just minding my own business, playing Pokémon Pearl, and enjoying an ice-cold Fanta Orange, when I heard a knock on the door. I peeped through the door lens to see the mailman. I opened the door and greeted him warmly. "Hey, Roy! How goes it?" I asked. "It goes good, Kaylee. I've got a package for you, but..... it doesn't say who sent it." he responded as he handed me the package. The label only said "To whoever gets this", and the package itself had a note attached to it. I took the package, said goodbye to Roy, and went back inside.
Later that night, I had finished checking up on Join Avenue in Pokémon Black 2, and looked at the package. I read the note, which said:
"To whoever gets this,
Destroy this disc as soon as you receive it. Do not watch it. The images on it are horribly disturbing. Believe me. I made the mistake of watching it. I tried to destroy it soon after, but was so frightened, I couldn't bring myself to destroy it. Please..... make the choice I couldn't....."
I shrugged this off as the person being kinda crazy, and opened the package. Inside was a blank DVD with the words "Pokemon: Midnight Ash" written on it in black Sharpie. Maybe this was a Pokémon movie burned onto a blank disc? Either way, I was gonna watch it.
So, I popped it into the DVD player and fired it up. The first thing that popped up was the "Pokemon Black and White: Rival Destinies" logo, except it was in monochrome, and in front of a black background.
Soon, that faded into black, and a picture of Ash appeared. The image showed Ash standing there, facing the screen with a glazed look in his eyes. This played for 10 minutes with no sound whatsoever. No music, no sound effects- nothing! After that time, he faded into black, and the faint sound of blowing wind could be heard. To be honest, I was getting a little creeped out.
Ash soon appeared on the screen again, with the same expression..... but something was off. His eyes had white irises and black sclera (the white part of your eye), and it looked as if he was crying a black, blood-like fluid. His mouth was also dripping blood. I was slightly creeped out before, but now, I was getting scared. This showed for another 10 minutes before cutting to black..... this is when it got scary.
Soon, the Giygas Phase 1 battle theme (The one that plays after the cutscene when Porky turns off the Devil's Machine) began to play. I was getting freaked out, so I turned off the TV..... but the music persisted. Next, I tried turning off the DVD player, but I could still hear it! Lastly, I tried unplugging everything..... but the music continued to play! My only option was to sit and watch the rest..... I wish I hadn't.....
Soon, Ash reappeared on the screen, but this image was downright horrifying; Ash's eyes, still retaining the color and fluid from the second image, were wide. He had a wide, sharp-toothed grin with blood stains on his teeth, as if he had dug them into someone's flesh. And he had blood splotched on his face and clothes..... but that wasn't the scariest part.
There, in his hands, were the decapitated heads of Iris and Cilan! Next to him was Axew's dead, mutilated body, which looked hyper-realistic. Under his foot was Pikachu's head, blood running from it. And lastly..... there was Misty's corpse. Her torso was torn open, and her organs lie next to her. This scene continued for 10 minutes, with the music in the background, as well as the sound of souls in torment.
Soon after..... he lunged at the screen! I jumped back and screamed before noticing that the TV turned off. The DVD then popped out of the player and landed on the floor. Wasting no time, I smashed the disc into pieces, and then burned those pieces in a fire.
The threat was over, and luckily, my love of Ash remained, but the nightmares plagued me every night since. My friends and family comforted me and got me psychiatric help. But even with therapy, the memory still remains.....
